Come run with us

We are a small, friendly running club located in Highworth near Swindon, catering for runners of all ages and abilities. Whether you want to compete in races from 5K to Marathon or simply have a gentle jog and chat, you'll find someone to join in with.

We meet on various days through the week with a session dedicated to beginners at 18:00 every Wednesday evening; wherever you run please ensure you follow these common sense guidelines.

Highworth 5 mile

The latest edition of the Highworth 5 mile race will take place on Sun 19th March; starting at 11:00 from Warneford School, Shrivenham road in Highworth.

We hope to once again attract a strong field; some will test their fitness ahead of the 'Spring marathon season', whilst others are determined to run up 'that damn hill'.

Entries are available online; alternatively you can download an entry form to guarantee your place in one of the most popular 5 mile races in the South West.

 

Forthcoming club runs / sessions:

Wed 22nd Feb - both the 18:00 group and the 19:00 group will be meeting at Vorda pre- school in Brewery Street, Highworth. As it is the last Wed in the month, club constitution states it is hill reps....it's the law

Sat 25th Feb - meeting 09:00 in the old library car park, top of Eastrop, Highworth; various routes and distances will be available

Sun 26th Feb - The Pewsey Terminator is a named race in the 2017 Club Series

Mon 27th Feb - meeting 18:30 at the County Ground athletics track (behind Swindon Town FC) - this week it is JC reps

Wed 1st Mar - both the 18:00 group and the 19:00 group will be meeting at Vorda pre- school in Brewery Street, Highworth

Sat 4th Mar - meeting 09:00 in the Bowls Club car park in Shrivenham; various routes and distances will be available

Sun 5th Mar - Round 5 of the Oxford Mail cross-country is at Hill End Centre, OX2 9NJ; first race is at 09:55 for U9 boys & girls

Mon 6th Mar - meeting 18:30 at the County Ground athletics track (behind Swindon Town FC) - this week it is 8s + 2s

Wed 8th Mar - the 18:00 group will be meeting at Vorda pre- school in Brewery Street, Highworth for the first round in the 2017 Beginners Club Series; everyone else will meet at 19:00

Sat 11th Mar - meeting 09:00 in the car park next to Three Trees Farm Shop in Chiseldon (on A346 behind Esso garage); various routes and distances will be available

Mon 13th Mar - meeting 18:30 at the County Ground athletics track (behind Swindon Town FC) - this week it is medium pyramids

Wed 15th Mar - both the 18:00 group and the 19:00 group will be meeting at Vorda pre- school in Brewery Street, Highworth

Sat 18th Mar - meeting 09:00 in the lay-by near the Trout Inn, Lechlade; various routes and distances will be available. Alternatively, we will be using the Swindon Park Run as a named race in the 2017 Club Series

Sun 19th Mar - the 32nd edition of the Highworth 5 mile race takes place

Mon 20th Mar - meeting 18:30 at the County Ground athletics track (behind Swindon Town FC) - this week it is 200 second reps

Wed 22nd Mar - both the 18:00 group and the 19:00 group will be meeting at Vorda pre- school in Brewery Street, Highworth

Sat 25th Mar - meeting 09:00 in the car park at Mouldon Hill country park (off Thamesdown Drive in Swindon); various routes and distances will be available

Mon 27th Mar - meeting 18:30 at the County Ground athletics track (behind Swindon Town FC) - this week it is cone running and reps

Wed 29th Mar - both the 18:00 group and the 19:00 group will be meeting at Vorda pre- school in Brewery Street, Highworth. As it is the last Wed in the month, club constitution states it is hill reps....it's the law
